Earlier this week we started a 2 part blog post about why your property isn’t renting, and what you can do to get it rented. Today we will give you three more common reasons why your property isn’t getting rented.

1. Outward appearance. Even before a potential tenant steps through the front door, they get an impression of the property from the exterior. Is the paint on the property peeling? Is the yard messy? This will even deter potential tenants from calling you to set up a viewing! Don’t let the outward appearance of your property kill your chances before you get the opportunity to present the entire package!

2. Market trend – Unfortunately, sometimes there are factors outside of your control that will affect your rental. The time of the month or year can be critical to getting your property rented. Do some research to find out the opportune times to market your property, and be ready so that you don’t miss out on the upward trend!

3. Reputation of using a property manager. If you’re not using a property manager, you may be at a disadvantage. Potential tenants will sometimes be turned off by self-managed property owners. They tend to feel more at ease when the property is backed by the reputation and care of a property management company. Consider speaking to a property management company for more information about this!
